Other VET courses are offered offsite at various training locations. <\/P>\n\n<P>Regardless of where the VET course is offered, VET is a very explicit model of education and incorporates \u2018real-world\u2019 learning. <\/P>\n\n<P>VET students develop skills related to a particular industry area and are taught using an adult learning style rather than a school learning style. <\/P>\n\n<P>VET is suited to students who are practical (hands-on) learners, and who have very strong organisational and time management skills. <\/P>\n\n<P>It is also necessary in some VET courses to undertake Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) which means students will need to be willing to undertake work placement throughout the year, including during school holidays. <\/P>\n\n<P>If planning on undertaking VET students and parent\/caregivers are encouraged to ensure they will be able to meet the requirements of their selected course such as the time commitment, cost, Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) and any additional requirements (e.g., first aid certification). <\/P> \n\n<P><mark><b>VET course fees will be paid for by the College at a rate of 50% Parent\/caregiver, 50% College with a cap on the College portion of $1500.00 per student, per year. <\/b><\/mark><\/P>\n\n<P>\n<mark>Should the enrolment of the VET course be terminated due to poor student outcomes (such as poor behaviour, attendance, application, work completion, etc.) the cost of the VET course is then required to be paid in full by the parent\/caregiver.\n<\/mark><\/P>\n\n<P><B>COMMITMENT TO VET <\/B><\/P>\n\n<P>VET courses are all rigidly structured, no matter whether they are offered on campus at Nazareth or at another training location. <\/P>\n\n<P>There is a rigorous schedule of learning to be completed and high levels of attendance, timely work completion and engagement in training are required. <\/P>\n\n<\/P>Students and parent\/caregivers must be aware that missed VET days, student absences, failure to complete tasks and poor punctuality may result in the non-completion of the course. This can impact SACE credits and SACE completion. <\/P>\n\n<P>It is for this reason that students must consider VET to be a large commitment, just the same as they consider their commitment to sport, work or other extra curricular activities including school excursions. <\/P>\n\n<P>A commitment to VET needs to be maintained for the duration of the VET course. <\/P>\n\n<P>In this way, students should consider the cost ramifications of the courses, withdrawing and\/or failing to attend as this does not result in a refund of the cost from the VET provider. <\/P>\n\n<P>Should the enrolment of up on any work missed due to absence from VET programs. <\/LI>\n<\/UL>\n<\/P>\n\n<P>\n<B>KEEPING UP WITH OTHER SCHOOL COMMITMENTS<\/B>\n<UL>\n<LI>It is the students\u2019 responsibility to keep up with school work missed while participating in VET programs. <\/LI>\n<LI>Students are encouraged to seek support from Nazareth Catholic College VET, Mentor or Subject Teachers.
